Skaya House is a cultural organization that pays tribute to the historical artistic contributions of the Komisarjevsky family. Through Skaya House, Katherina also writes on her blog, and supports artists today by catalyzing the artistic vision of other creators. Our most recent collaboration was with Hermine Bourdin, artist in residency at l'Opera Garnier in Paris.
Prior to forming Skaya Capital, Mrs. Komisarjevsky was Partner, COO and Board Director of Harbor Group, an insurance advisory firm representing the world's largest financial institutions, such as Goldman Sachs, JPM, UBS and Deutsche Bank, on over $500bn in commercial real estate finance transactions. After leading her team to multi-million dollar year-over-year growth for 14 years and then selling the firm, Katherina also turned her attention to a philanthropic and very personal project, Skaya House, paying tribute to her family’s 150-year artistic heritage of writing, theatre, opera and dance. Through the Skaya House platform, Katherina also writes on her blog and collaborates on other artistic projects. She serves as on the advisory council for MiamiDanceMakers and previously served as a mentor & coach for advocacy organizations dedicated to women and young professionals, including Babson College and the Commercial Real Estate Finance Council. Katherina holds a B.S. in Public Affairs from Hofstra University, studied Art Market Economics at Christie’s, and completed post-graduate work at Wharton.
